Rain and Relaxation

The past few days have been intense. Both Alex and I were feeling pretty worn out, so we decided to take it slow today. That gave me the chance to finally sit down and spend some time working on the blog. For the first time, I set up my laptop at the table down below on the boat, and I have to say, it’s a surprisingly cozy little workspace. While I focused on writing and editing, Alex spent the day working on the bedroom.

With my parents arriving tomorrow for a visit, he trimmed the wall panels so we can eventually hide all the exposed pipes and cables. And while we were both quietly minding our own projects, out of nowhere, it started to rain.

It was the first rain we’ve had in a while, and it felt like a gift. We quickly made everything rain-ready, then settled into the cockpit to enjoy it. The air cooled down, and we sat there for a while, just listening to the soft patter of raindrops and the gentle break of the waves, a moment of calm we both really needed.

By the time the rain stopped around sunset, we decided to head back to the marina for a quick laundry run. The washing machines there aren’t the best, but they get the job done (well, most of it). After half an hour or so, we returned to the boat, hung up our clothes, and called it a day.

Dinner was simple. We chatted a bit more afterwards, then slowly wound down, grateful for a quiet, restful day, and drifted off to sleep.
